Greetings!
This message is to inform you of the school’s plans for April, and clarify any possible misconceptions regarding the upcoming progression tests.
As you might have been aware, the live, synchronous learning and teaching for this academic year will be completed on the 31st of March. We are aware of the stress our students have been experiencing in this difficult time, and we are placing as little pressure on them as possible, and therefore decided to end classes at the end of March.
From the 1st of April until the 8th, the school has planned to conduct progression tests for students from Year 3 to Year 9. It is very important to note that progression tests are by no means compulsory, and that they are not high-stakes exams that dictate whether students pass or fail a grade. In fact, progression tests are internal assessments that help the school measure students’ progress; identify individual students’ strengths and areas of improvement; identify the learning gaps if any; and plan the instruction accordingly to address these gaps. The information the school can obtain from the progression tests have been very useful in tracking and reviewing students’ progress over time, and giving structured feedback and providing evidence of learning. The progression tests are a part of the normal teaching and learning process. Students do not need to study anything extraordinary in order to prepare for the exam, nor do they affect their report card scores. Therefore there is no need for test anxiety.
As stated, the assessment is voluntary, and yet we strongly suggest that students take the progression tests. This will help us determine what assistance we need to provide to students throughout the summer and the next academic year.
The actual progression tests will take place on the 6th, 7th and 8th of April for English, Mathematics and Science respectively. Before that, we will be conducting a complete mock test on the 1st, 2nd and 5th of April, so that students are aware of the structure of the test. All assessments will take place online. The following is the schedule for progression tests.
There will be an online assembly on the 9th of April, and outstanding students who have shown dedication throughout this tough year will be acknowledged and awarded. A meeting link will be sent to students sometime later.

လူကြီးမင်းတို့ သိရှိထားသည့်အတိုင်း ယခုပညာသင်နှစ်အတွက် စာသင်ကြားခြင်းများအား မတ်လ ၃၁ရက်နေ့တွင် အဆုံးသတ်မည် ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ကျောင်းသားကျောင်းသူများ ယခုလိုကာလတွင် စိတ်ဖိစီးမှု ကြုံတွေ့နေနိုင်မှုကို ကျွန်တော်တို့အနေဖြင့် နားလည်ပါသည်။ ယင်းအတွက်ကြောင့် သူတို့အတွက် ဖြစ်နိုင်သမျှ မရှိလေအောင် အတတ်နိုင်ဆုံး ကြိုးစားကာ မတ်လကုန်တွင် စာသင်ကြားခြင်း ပြီးဆုံးနိုင်စေရန် စီစဉ်ထားပေးပါသည်။
ဧပြီလ တစ်ရက်မှ ရှစ်ရက်အတွင်းတွင် Year 3 to Year 9 ကျောင်းသားကျောင်းသူများအတွက် progression tests များ ကျင်းပသွားရန် ရည်ရွယ်ထားပါသည်။ အဆိုပါ progression tests များသည် မဖြေမနေရ မဟုတ်ကြောင်းနှင့် အဆိုပါစာမေးပွဲသည် ကျောင်းသားများ အောင်/ရှုံး သတ်မှတ်သည့် စာမေးပွဲကြီးများ မဟုတ်ကြောင်း ကောင်းစွာ သိရှိထားကြရန် အရေးကြီးပါသည်။ ယင်း စာမေးပွဲသည် အတန်းတွင်း စစ်ဆေးမှုတစ်ခုသာ ဖြစ်ပြီး ကျောင်းသားများ၏ ပညာရည်တိုးတက်မှု၊ သူတို့၏ အားသာချက်များ ဆက်လက်ကြိးစားရန်လိုအပ်သည်များကို သိရှနိုင်စေကာ အကယ်၍ လိုအပ်ချက် ကွာဟချက် ရှိနေပါက ကျောင်းအနေဖြင့် မည်သို့မည်ပုံ ပြန်လည် ကုစားပြင်ဆင်ပေးရမည် စသည်တို့အတွက် များစွာ အထောက်အကူပြုပါသည်။ ကျောင်းသားများ၏ တစ်နှစ်တာအတွင်း ပညာရည်တိုးတက်မှုကို ပိုမိုသိရှိစေကာ သင်ယူမှု မှတ်တမ်းကို စနစ်တကျ သိနိုင်ရန် အထောက်အကူပြုပါသည်။ အဆိုပါ စစ်မေးမှုသည် စာမေးပွဲအတွက် သီးသန့် ပြင်ဆင်လေ့လာရန်လည်းမလို၊ ပညာရည်မှတ်တမ်း report card အတွက် သက်ရောက်မှုလည်း မရှိကာ စာမေးပွဲအတွက် စိတ်လှုပ်ရှားမှု အထွေအထူး ဖြစ်စရာ မရှိသည့် အတန်းတွင်း သာမန် သင်ကြားသင်ယူမှုဖြစ်စဉ် တစ်စိတ်တစ်ပိုင်းသာဖြစ်ပါသည်။
အထက်တွင် ပြောထားသည့်အတိုင်း progression tests များသည် ဖြေဆိုလိုသော ကျောင်းသားများအတွက်သာ ဖြစ်ပြီး မဖြေမနေရမဟုတ်ပါ။ သို့သော် ကျောင်းသားကျောင်းသူများ အဆိုပါစစ်ဆေးမှုတွင် ပါဝင်ကြရန် လေးလေးနက်နက် တိုက်တွန်းလိုပါသည်။ ဤစာမေးပွဲရလဒ်သည် နွေရာသီကာလအတွင်း နှင့် လာမည့် ပညာသင်နှစ်တွင် မည်သည့်ကျောင်းသားတို့အား ကျောင်းမှ မည်သို့ ပံ့ပိုးပေးနိုင်မည်ကို ဆုံးဖြတ်နိုင်ရန် အထောက်အကူပြုပါသည်။
